Good Morning!
Thanks for your patience over the last week or so. I've been out of town, working hard for my best friend's wedding to go off without a hitch. Success!
Tomorrow the crew and I will be on Ottawa's famed Preston St. for the Italian community's annual festival of wine and food, La Vendemmia.
Tiffany (my spritely production assistant) and I will be competing in the festival's annual grape stomp for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Society Foundation. We'll see if we can press wine as well as we drink it! I have visions of that "I Love Lucy" episode! Note to self: bring a towel...
After we get the grape skins out from between our toes, it's off to Sala San Marco for Vendemmia's Taste of Little Italy wine and food extravaganza. We'll be talking and tasting with some of the area's authorities on Italian wine and food culture.
Visit our website for $5 off admission to the Taste of Little Italy and join us! Otherwise, stay tuned! The fruits of our labour will be up on the site soon!
Cheers,
Vanessa

Vanessa Emerson on LIVE 88.5

Hi All!
I just taped an interview with LIVE 88.5 's "Start-Up" crew that will be airing this Thursday or Friday between 5:30am and 9:00am. I hope you'll tune in! We talked about great finds at the LCBO, wines to pair with the French Canadian foods of my childhood and a whole lot more!
If you live outside of the Ottawa area, you can listen live on their website at http://www.live885.com/
Katfish, Shirley and David were so much fun, which made it very easy for me to be relaxed...this was, afterall, my first time (on the radio, that is!). And who knows? I may be back!
Cheers!

Prince Edward County

Hi All
Just wanted to let you know that our Episodes from Prince Edward County start this week with a visit to Huff Estates.
As you'll see, the people there were great to us ... I was even able to sample wines directly from the oak casks ... a real treat ! I was really surprised at how far along the wines have come in this area in such a short time. But these people are taking their wine production extremely seriously, and the results are starting to show in every bottle!
